Mylne & The America's Cup

Research has found that Alfred Mylne was approached by Sir Thomas Lipton in 1906 to design Shamrock IV and challenge for the America's Cup.

 

 "New York. June 5.—Sir Thomas Is still sanguine that the yacht designers, yacht builders and yacht sailors of Great Britain can win back the America's up. He has just arranged for the building of another Shamrock, the fourth boat of the name, and a boat that promises to be unique. The designer entrusted with this commission.
