The Mylne Classic Regatta 2009 will be held on the Clyde from the 12 - 16th July 2009. 
This inaugural event will bring together for the first time a fleet of yachts designed by the world renowned Alfred Mylne, and his company A.Mylne & Co. On-the-water organisation is by the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club. - The event will start at the prestigeous Club House at Rhu near Helensburgh where a gathering, registration and Hogg Roast will be held in the grounds.
- The fleet will depart on Monday. racing for Rothesay on the Island of Bute. The Island of Bute Sailing Club will host an evening event in honour of the fleet, many of whom will have been built at the Mylne yard on the island (known as the Bute Slip Dock Company at Ardmaleish Point).
- The Tuesday will commence as a more relaxed affair as the fleet cruise northwards through the enchanting Kyles of Bute incorporating a sail past and salute to the Bute Slip Dock Yard at Ardmaleish Point, before commencing race 2 - Round Bute. Larger yachts race round the south of Bute and smaller yachts round a buoy in the
- West Kyle and back through the Burnt Isles. The days racing will be followed by a free evening for all to explore Rothesay at their leisure.
- Wednesday will comprise a race Round/To Great Cumbrae. Larger yachts will race round the south of Great Cumbrae, smaller yachts will race round a marker to the north of Great Cumbrae. The days racing will finish with an evening reception at Mount Stuart, this will incorporate a tour around this prestegious building set in 300 acres of the most beautiful coastal grounds to be found anywhere.
On Thursday, the fleet will race northwards again, returning to the friendly Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club, for a formal evening dinner and prize giving.
At each stage of the event the public will be invited to visit the assembled fleet, and see for themselves the grace, beauty and charm of these yachts. Yachts from all four home nations will be taking part, as well as yachts coming from as far afield as Norway (confrimed) and interest from Mylne yachts based in France, Spain, Italy and the Caribbean. International yachting and lifetsyle press have indicated their interest in covering the event, and an independant television documentary of the event is in planning.
