 The Royal Northern and Clyde was formed in 1978 from a merger of The Royal Northern and The Royal Clyde Yacht Clubs. The Clubhouse is situated in Rhu with extensive grounds leading down to the Gareloch. The club, on whose walls are hung many Mylne models and a large portrait of Alfred Mylne 1st, will be hosting the Mylne Classic Regatta 2009.
