The new Inner Harbour moorings are accessed via the new lifting bridge on the quay which is now the main access route for ferry pedestrians. The Bute Berthing Company (BBC), which has managed the outer harbour pontoons and the moorings for the last 14 years have been awarded the contract to extend their remit to the new inner harbour facility for the next 5 years. They are expanding their staff base and visitors should follow directions from the Pontoon Supervisors to secure appropriate berths.
For the present, approaching vessels can use VHF Channel 12 to contact the Harbourmaster regarding any queries, including bridge openings. A small area of shallower water alongside the main pier of the inner harbour will be clearly marked.
During this season, the main pier building is to be altered to provide 24-hour access to toilet facilities and in the meantime there is the very fine Victorian toilet and shower block with 24-hour key access to toilet facilities. It goes without saying that vessels are not allowed to use sea toilets within the harbours.
