Southampton Yacht Services is one of the best major refit yards in Europe, completing refits and restoration works on a number of the large classic sailing and motor yachts. SYS is probably best known for rebuilding one of the most famous yachts in the world, the J Class Velsheda. However before that SYS carried out major refits on the Fife yachts Altair and Belle Aventure and rebuilt the Mylne ketch Thendara. The Adelphi Fascadale Cup – Adelphi Distillery are supporting the event with a bottle of their new Fascadale 10 years old Single Malt for every participating yacht. The Silvers Trophy Race – Silvers Marine, with their own illustrious boat building history, will be highly visible on the water with two fast support boats following the fleet during the five day event, plus their sponsors entry. On Sunday 12th July they will be hosting an open day at their yard just across the water from the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club and Rhu Marina. The open day will include a tour of their extensive facilities and a chance to see real boat building and repair work in action. The yard will be ferrying people across the short distance from the Clubhouse and the Marina as part of Sunday’s attractions.
