Southampton Yacht Services is one of the best major refit yards in Europe, completing refits and restoration works on a number of the large classic sailing and motor yachts. SYS is probably best known for rebuilding one of the most famous yachts in the world, the J Class Velsheda. However before that SYS carried out major refits on the Fife yachts Altair and Belle Aventure and rebuilt the Mylne ketch Thendara. Last year SYS completed rebuilding the 1904 gaff cutter Merrymaid which has just rounded Cape Horn. www.southamptonyachtservices.co.uk
