The Blue Peter - Classic Yacht by Alfred Mylne from David Gray on Vimeo.

Capturing the beauty and elegance of sailing on one of the worlds finest classic yachts in the stunning setting of the South of France.

The Blue Peter was built in 1930. She was designed by Alfred Mylne and built by W. King & Sons of Burnham-on-Crouch.

Her first owner Desmond Molins decided in 1938 that he wanted a bigger boat, but he loved The Blue Peter so much that he decided to have her lengthened by nearly 10 feet. She remains true to these plans to this day.

She was named The Blue Peter for luck, after the 'P' flag, which is used as the preparatory signal before starting a race.

Classic Yacht Racing from Musto Stories on Vimeo.

Shot in Marseille and Cassis in May 2010, this is a short film about Classic Yacht Racing circuit in the South of France, featuring boats dating back to the 1920s. Musto was invited to film by Jean François Behar, owner and skipper of Eilidh, a 1930s Bermudan cutter built by Alfred Mylne in Scotland. Lovely man, fantastic hospitality. Instead of the traditional fashion shoot, Musto decided to invite friends, new and old to enjoy a few days messing about on Eilidh. Photographer Steve Read captured the atmosphere and we tagged along for the ride. The film was shot on a Canon 7D and the ever-reliable Go Pro Hero, christened Bear Cam for reasons we won't go into here...
