Notes

Originally designated 24ft Linear Rater, her design uses the 1895 Linear Rating Rule. Notes on the drawing show calculations made to the 1901 YRA rule which included a "d" measurement, giving the yacht a Linear Rating of 26ft. The Model of her shows she is a 1.5 rater, which was never an actual class, so perhaps named as such to provide context for anyone not familiar with the "new" linear rating rule.

Historical Context

Alfred Mylne (1870–1960) was a distinguished Scottish yacht designer whose practice extended across seven decades. His designs ranged from small cruising vessels to substantial racing yachts, characterised by careful proportion and seaworthy construction. The archive preserves drawings from across his career, documenting the development of yacht design practice in Britain during this period. Design 44 represents one entry within this broader body of work, though without additional documentation, its specific place within Mylne's design chronology remains uncertain.
