Notes
The new Mylne Path Finder PF28 is a development of our larger PF36 motor yacht. It utilises cutting edge diesel electric hybrid propulsion to minimise the engine room space, moving this aft. This allows the all important centre of the yacht to be used for recreational and living space. The highly efficient Path Finder hull gives exceptional fuel economy and comfort, in a yacht of elegant proportions. Historical Context
Alfred Mylne maintained an active design practice spanning several decades, producing designs across a wide range of vessel types. Motor yachts and motor-assisted vessels formed an increasingly significant proportion of commissions during the early twentieth century, as mechanical propulsion became more reliable and desirable among yacht owners. The designation system employed in the archive, including the PF prefix found on this design, reflects Mylne's cataloguing methodology, though the specific meaning of these prefixes is not fully documented. Single screw motor yachts represented a practical solution for owners seeking moderate performance and operational convenience.
