Historical Context
Alfred Mylne (1881–1969) was a Scottish yacht designer whose career spanned over six decades. While celebrated for his sailing yacht designs, Mylne also undertook commissions for motor vessels. The period around 1971, when Celastrina was built, fell within the later years of Mylne's practice, when motor yachts were becoming increasingly prevalent. Twin Screw configurations offered improved manoeuvrability compared to single-engine vessels, making them attractive for larger motor yachts of the era.
