Historical Context

Design No. 48, Corona, was created by A. Mylne & Co. in 1900, a year in which the Glasgow office was consolidating its reputation for sound, practical yacht design. The turn of the century saw A. Mylne & Co. producing designs across a range of sizes and types, from small cruising craft to larger yachts. Hilditch of Carrickfergus, located on the County Antrim coast of Northern Ireland, was one of several shipyards engaged to build Mylne designs during this period. The survival and current state of many small yachts from this era remain undocumented, and Nysa is no exception.
